Indulge in the world's finest pasta in just 10 minutes with only four ingredients - Cacio e Pepe! Here's what you'll need:
- 30g unsalted butter
- 1 tsp black pepper
- a pinch of salt
- Half pack of spaghetti (200g)
- 1 cup of Pecorino Romano cheese or parmesan cheese (or a combination of both)
Directions:
-
Boil water with a sprinkle of salt and cook spaghetti until al dente (usually a minute less than the package recommends), setting aside 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water.
-
In a large pot, add butter and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Using tongs, transfer the spaghetti to the butter mixture and mix.
-
Add 3/4 cup of cheese and remaining pepper to the skillet, stirring with tongs until the cheese melts. Add the remaining cheese and pasta water to adjust consistency, reheating as necessary until the sauce is creamy and coats each strand of spaghetti. Season with salt and more black pepper to taste.
-
Serve immediately, passing extra grated cheese and black pepper at the table.
Enjoy this delectable and simple pasta dish with loved ones and revel in its rich flavour and velvety texture.
