Since I’m using my Air Fryer quite a lot, I’ve received many questions about the model I’m using and about the way I use it. So I thought it would be easier if I just explain here.

The actual capacity is quite small but it’s enough for a meal for two. If you have a big family I would definitely recommend buying one with a bigger capacity.

Is it worth getting an air fryer?
If you want to reduce your use of oil then 100% yes! I use it to make fritters, schnitzels, chips, cauliflower, aubergine and more and the result is so so much better than the oven.

Do you put oil in an air fryer?
I only use oil spray for each batch that I’m placing and it always does the job!

Tips for using an air fryer:
– Turn the food over twice in the middle of the overall cooking time.
– Use the oil spray I mentioned before. It makes a lot of difference.
– Don’t overcrowd the basket with items and try to use smaller pieces.
– Don’t forget to preheat, same as normal oven!

Ingredients
2 aubergines, cut into rounds
1 tbsp sweet paprika
1tsp turmeric
1tsp salt, pepper
Garnish: Tahini, chopped coriander & pomegranate seeds

Instructions
Preheat the air fryer to 190 degrees.
Place the aubergine slices on kitchen paper and sprinkle some salt on them. Leave them for 10 minutes and then wipe the liquid they extracted.
Spray the aubergine using olive oil spray and rub all the spices on it.
Place in the air fryer for 9 minutes, open the basket and toss the aubergines and place again in the stir fryer for a further 9 minutes.
Drizzle some tahini, coriander & pomegranate seeds on top and serve hot or at room temperature.
You can make this recipe also in the oven, probably need to add 15 more minutes to the overall cooking time.
Notes
You can make the aubergine ahead of time and add the garnish right before serving.
